Fabulous Greek Key Sofa II

As much as I loved the yellow Greek Key sofa in my previous post, I just couldn't get my head wrapped around committing to so much pattern AND color. I punked out.

I did find something that I love and while still patterned, the neutral tones makes it much more palatable. Baby steps, for me.. Baby steps.

Thanks for sharing, Nancy!

This really works for me. It's a perfect sofa actually. Tailored, low arms, bench cushion seat (a must, multiple seat cushions drive me batty) and while patterned with my new fav, Greek Key, it's tonality is subtle and actually relaxing. Yellow for the throw pillows, I can live with.

Fabulous Greek Key Sofa

I've been looking for a small sofa for my family room and while I'm partial to solid colored upholstery, I must admit I was so excited to find this:

I'm such a fan of this sofa. It has a great shape, love the Asian base and that fun, yellow greek key design is really WOWING me.

Does anyone know the name of this fabric? Or something similiar?

I'm not quite sure I can commit to a patterned sofa but if I ever did, THIS would be the one.

Vera Does David's Bridal

It's that time of year where brides that got engaged over the holidays start clamouring over all things bridal. Even though I got married a year ago, I still look at wedding gowns and stay current with all things wedding.

This latest bridal finding has me tickled pink. Vera Wang has a new line of gowns, the "White" collection at David's Bridal and they are STUNNING!!

These gowns are so very gorgeous and and keeps in line with the look of a Vera Wang at a price point of around $1000.00.

I'm in love with the selection in the middle...it's divine.

They Are Wearing This To The Prom?

This year is my daughter's senior prom and I'm so excited! I plan to take her to look at dresses tomorrow just to see what styles she likes and what looks good on her and basically have a mother/daugther day out.

I picked up a prom gown catalog just to see what girls are wearing these days. Undoubtly, very sexy dresses because I wore a Faviana prom dress for my wedding reception.
There were lots of pretty dresses. This year seems to be all about animal print, tropical and botanical prints.

Very cute stuff.

There's even a gown for the Oscar's inspired prom.

But there was one dress that stopped me in my tracks..

This "prom" dress is so not prom-y. I can totally see this on a bride and if not an actual bride, at the very least on a model for a haute bridal photoshoot. It looks couture and quite fabulous. I Love it!

Best part, it's only around $500.00. Say what?!?

Happy Happy, Joy Joy!!

Craigslist never ceases to amaze. I was going through the listings looking for a two twin headboards for my guestroom and while I didn't find anything for said guestroom, I did find a fabulous MIRRORED BUFFET, a fab brass dining table and 6 suede chairs for $125!!! For everything!!!

I was totally dumbfounded because the ad was from December 24!! This beautiful dining furniture at that INSANE price had been overlooked for a month!! So bizarre. Anywhooo YEA ME!!

I know just the place for that buffet.. the living room.

Not sure about the table and chairs though..it's quite contemporary. I'm wondering if my Regency chairs would look good with the table? And what to do with those chairs? I'm sure I'll find a home for them.. if not in mine, then someone else's.

Decorator White

photo

The hubby and I were talking about paint again as we are finally in the last stretch of this renovation. (OMG, I had no idea it would take the entire winter! So much for enjoying our 50 kabillion fireplaces. lol But I digress.)

So back to paint, the Mister thinks we should go with a creamy-with a drop of grey tinged white walls instead of grey walls. And I have to admit that I'm torn.

The creamy white walls would look so fresh and make the space look expansive but being an apartment dweller, we've lived with dull white walls for a long time. I think we need some color. He thinks the white would be a better choice because of the expresso floors.

I dunno.. but this photo of a entry is making a great case for white walls. So pristine yet warm and welcoming.

Decisions, decisions.

Fab Finds - Designer Edition

I really shouldn't peruse the interwebs in the wee hours of the morning. I can get my bank account in a lot of trouble.

This vintage Gucci pitcher is a fab conversation piece. I'm totally in love with all things Horn these days, so I was just smitten at that detail. I could see this lovely piece on my super cute bar cart.

Another vintage Gucci item, this time to adorn me. This emamel and goldtone necklace/belt is a nice statement piece. I really love this too. I want it, badly.

Lastly, this vintage Christian Dior Limoge tray is the bees knees. Perfect for my bedside table to hold my wedding ring. Or could be perched on a foyer table to hold keys. So cute!
