We All Scream For Ice Cream

Hey, my fellow Bridalistas! This has been a whirlwind weekend for moi. Fun yet exhausting. I had the final walk thru at my fabulous venue. It was really great, I had my event designer and DOC attend as well, so all the nitty-gritty is all hashed out with no stone left unturned. Boy was I in for a surprise as I thought, "yeah, it'll be a breeze, should last no longer than an hour..". WRONG! This was a four hour event. And my DOC has a laundry list of things for me to do. Yea! *enter sarcasm*

In lighter, more fun news.. I had expressed to the catering manager that I wanted a lil something special for my guest as they are cutting a rug... mini ice cream cones! I figured they can be passed out as we wind down to the last 45 to 30 minutes of dancing. I'm sure it would be a welcome and unexpected treat, a perfect ending to a summer wedding. She said sure but I had to supply the palettes. Sure no problemo!

Here's what I found:

First up is from a catering supplier, very chic and modern JBPrince

Another great find, however it only comes in packages of 48, from Philip R's

Both are great options and if I had a bride or brides to share the cost of the latter with, I'd totally get them, as I love that it looks like an artists' palette. But I think I will go with the acrylic ones, as the "palettes" are cardboard and not reusable.

As the acrylic ones will be mine to take home at the end of the night, I can use them again and again at my own little soirees. With these little cuties!!!

I LOVE THESE!!! 220 mini cones for only $23.50 on Amazon.com.

They also have flavored ones, such a Garlic, and Tomato Pesto, which would make for interesting hors d’ oeuvres or a change of pace from crackers.

Yummy!

My Most Wanted

At this very moment, as I look around my less than tidy house, I wish I had "I Dream of Jeannie" powers and could blink my house spotless. But alas, unfortunately that cool power was just a figment of a writer's imagination. Still I gaze at the mess that's not gonna clean itself.

This brings me to my latest obession. Should I or shouldn't I get a maid. Wow..that sounds so... weird.

I need help. I have finally admitted it. I have entirely too much going on and cleaning is the last thing I want to even think about doing when I get home. Is this wrong?

I've hesitated for sooooo long because I thought I could do it all.. but I really can't and I'm tired of trying to wear an "S" on my chest.. I'm not super woman.

While I wait for a representative to call me back from Merry Maids, I think I have found a new favorite gift to give. Wouldn't that be the coolest gift EVER!!!

Their tagline, "Relax. It's Done." is music to my ears.

Adorable!!

It's the Virgo in me that keeps looking at dresses for my wee Divas. I think I'm pretty much set with the older girls but wanted to find something equally cute and chic for the sassy 4 year old. I just found this today. Tell me what you think.

My Girl Dress

I especially love it because it would be sooooooo cute on a smaller child, say 4 and under. I wouldn't really want to see this on an older child for some reason.

Lush and Glamourous

What's so lush and glamorous? Gardenias! This flower is the grand dame of the all flowers in my opinion. The creamy white, velvety petals, the slick green leaves.. they just beg to be admired. Oh and don't even get me started on the fragrance. It is OUT OF THIS WORLD beautiful!!

Gardenias hold a special place in my heart because they remind me a of simpler time, when I was a young fabulista, watching my Mom get dolled up at her vanity for a night out on the town. She was the most glamorous woman I had ever known. And without fail, she would spritz the "Jungle Gardenia" in the air and walk into it's heady goodness. I would always wait with giddy glee until she spritzed me and saw me off to bed. I would lay in bed, smiling THIS HARD at how glam I now felt. I smile at the thought of it now. =)

So imagine how tickled I was when I received the sweetest gift from my fellow fabulista and sister-friend... a Gardenia Bonzai plant. First of all, it was a total surprise and who doesn't love a great surprise?? Then when it was unpackaged, in all it's quiet beauty.. my beloved gardenias.. 3 flowers and 4 more just waiting to bloom.

Can I tell you that my room smells DIVINE?? It even wafts into the hall and the master bath. Now I go to sleep and awake to feeling glamorous, just like Mommy taught me.

I suddenly decided, this is what I want to feel when I get married, happy and glam. So I began to look for a scent that authentically Gardenia.. not some heavy perfume that would choke a horse. Something light, airy and sweet.. I found this:

"Alcohol-free, this purest form of fragrance imparts the long-lasting aroma of velvety blossoms for a soft and sensuous aura.

The majestic Gardenia, fragrant queen of tropical flowers, celebrates feminine grace, joy and beauty. The allure of paradise.

The rich, velvety aroma accords of the majestic Gardenia, fragrant queen of tropical flowers."

Sounds good to me.

My Momma Drama

My Mom didn't like the strapless blue chiffon dress that I wanted her to wear. She didn't like that it was strapless and thought the chiffon would make her look weird. *enter headache*

So based on my sister's suggestion, I should find a dress with some type of drama like this. Problem is I don't remember where I found it.

Enter new finding..

La Femme

Could this be a winner? Does it look better in the black or blue? Does anyone have a suggestion that's similar in styling?

My Dainty Haul

With the wedding quickly approached I decided to head over to Victoria's Secret to see what dainty yet sexy honeymoon lingerie they had. There pickings were slim as I have ALOT of stuff from them already..but I did really like this:

So sexy yet "first night as husband and wife" looking. I love it.

My next find was a total pleasant surprise! It was on sale. Yeah!

Score! The perfect outfit for my "boudoir meets wedding day". It'll be perfect for a few quick shots with my gown on a dress form and me and my "I'm oblivious to the camera yet posing somewhat seductively" poses.

Then I headed over to Frederick's of Hollywood - they are having a sale too! I just had to get a pair of these:

I cannot think of anything sexier I would rather have on my feet on my wedding day while getting ready. I got them in white and in black. I needed to replace my current black ones. I feel so Marilyn Monroe when I don my black short satin robe and marabou slippers to sign for UPS deliveries. teeheee

I did pick up a few of other things from Frederick's but since they are R rated, I'll just share the more "demure" of the lot:

Hurry up Wedding Day!!
