Guilty Pleasure

I have a confession to make. As a married woman with a 17 year old daughter, I still watch cartoons. (don't judge me, lol)

I watch them even when there aren't any children around and I totally get a kick out of them. I adore SpongeBob, he's is too cute and cracks me up. I watch the throw backs, like Tom and Jerry and Bugs Bunny too. Weird, I know.

It's my way of getting off the roller-coaster of life. I can tune out they stress of the day and just have some mindless chuckles. After watching for an hour or so, I feel alot less stressed, my mood is elevated and I'm Wonderwoman again.

But there are days that I just need to up the ante and crave a-laugh-til-you-cry, slap-your-knee, throw-your head-back, or that-was-so-funny, I-have-to-see-that-again, laugh fest. Enter Roger.

Roger is a riot! He's totally inappropriate, witty and crass but he's a laugh a minute. I heart American Dad.

What's Black and White And Ultra Fab?

Zebra!

This room features a gray and white zebra upholstered chair, fab nonetheless. I love that this "IT" (my opinion) pattern can take a space from blah to oooh la, la!

I didn't label this images when I found them, sorry.

Traditional Home-y

Remember when we thought we had a house but didn't... well, we're we still hopeful we'd find something that we loved and we finally have!

Now, I had looked at maybe 30 houses before coming across this one. The MLS listing didn't really show anything but it described the house as having "old world charm". I thought, "This could be the one". My attention was piqued enough to wanna go see it.

When my realtor met me at the property, she said, "No, I hate this for you, it's totally not you." I told her we haven't even looked inside (while still standing on the curb). She sighed and said "Ok", half heartedly.

As we walked up the little walkway to the house, I looked around and smiled. I thought it was charming.

We got up to the porch and I loved the dutch door flanked by slim windows atopped with stained glass. Very cute. I peeked inside and squealed with delight. I told her, "I love this house already! Let's go in!"

Now, this house was built in 1892, so you know I immediately thought it would be a disaster inside.. but to my surprise most of the house had been restored and I believe that the previous owners probably ran out of money and didn't get to finish beautifying this home.

LOVELY!

There are 7 bedrooms, 5 with working fireplaces.

The house gets a lot of natural light, which I love. With the soft yellow paint color and the bright sunshiny day, it looked almost ethereal.

*sigh* Such a pretty staircase. mahogany, probably and the detail just takes my breath away. While there, I just sat on the stairs, taking it all in. What a gem of a house.

I even love the park-like backyard.

The Hubby says that if we get this house, we will renew our vows in the backyard. He's such a sweetie.

Maybe this will be it, we're hoping and praying if it's meant for us, that all will go well. We put in a contract, it was accepted. Fingers and toes crossed.

Perfectly Posh

I adore!
Neiman Marcus

Then add a dash of marabou... I like the gray.

Blissful Bathroom

I don't know when I became obsessed with beautiful bathrooms but I totally am and I dream of having one in our new house. I'm hoping there will be enough money in the renovation budget to get a new masterbath.

The bathroom's footprint isn't huge and I'm ok with that as long as it can look like this:

It's not grand but it's perfect.

Baby Fever-ish

Now that I'm planning two baby showers, one next month, the other in December, I'm knee deep in all things baby. I was trying to stay just ankle deep but I couldn't help myself. There are so many great things out there for wee ones!

So naturally, my thoughts turn to if the Hubs and I had a baby. What would I like to have for our baby?

Immediately, what comes to mind is one of my top 5 all time favorite movies, "Father of the Bride 2"

Not only was I totally in LOVE with the Banks house, which totally shaped my love of charming colonials, I thought everything baby related in the movie was so sweet. From the exercise "class" given by Franck to the baby shower complete with storks. STORKS!!

I think I was most enamored with the new nursery.

HookedonHouses

When Franck opened the bow adorned door, I watched with baited breath.. and was so emotional seeing that room. It just took my breath away. It was so appropriate, so classic, so charming, so beautiful.

I think I would like an interpretation of that room, maybe it would look like this..

I love.

Creative Storage

I'm so intrigued to see how interior designers utilize dead space around a home. I think no matter the size of a home, storage space is always fleeting.

I love these ideas:

I adore this idea. Creating a nook for a storage cabinet, wardrobe, armoire! It looks like a custom built in and provides much needed storage for linens, throws, pillows etc.

I even like those torch-y lamps, (what are those called?) flanking the cabinet.
Pretty cool.

Here's another idea:

What a great way to use another dead space! I love!

Sanctuary Design Studio

I have been virtual shopping again, this time for furniture. My champagne taste is so out of line with my box o' wine budget (don't partake in the beer).

I would like to waltz into  Horchow, pay cash for my living room sofa but I'm clutching my pearls at that price.

Enter Sanctuary Design Studio...

Stunning custom furniture at reasonable prices...just what the doctor ordered.

They can make almost any piece of furniture you desire. My heart is set on the tufted sofa from Horchow's and instead of that crazy price of $3,200, I could pay around $700.00 and get it make to my size specs. How great is that!?!?

Maybe I can get one of these made too,

for my dressing room.

Stylin' and Profilin'

I would like the Hubby and I to take a photo like this.

Isn't it darling? Yup, I would like a photo of us similarly styled.. no particular reason, than I simply adore it.

First Comes Love, Then Comes Marriage, Then...

Nope, there's no bun in the oven but there is ALOT of preggo friends and family around me these days. So naturally, my attention (slightly) has gone to all things baby. There's so much out there that wasn't around when I had my daughter.

I remember my first sonogram and how excited I was to know the sex of my unborn baby. I waited patiently as the sonographer tried as she might to give me a determination. But alas, it was not to be as the baby kept it's legs closed. I know now, that she was such a little lady, even back in utero.

Fast forward to yesterday... I saw a commerical for a product called IntelliGender. This at-home gender perdiction test can be picked up at your local Target and it can (supposedly) tell you the sex of your baby at 10 weeks! Really? Wow!

Isn't that interesting?

Here's the commercial:

I think it's a cute novelty and I would probably try it. Of course, still having a sonogram at 20 weeks or so.

What's your take on this advance in science? Has anyone tried it? Would you try it?

Bakerella, Ella, Ella, Eh!

Congrats to Bakerella on her new book, "Cake Pops". What an outstanding achievement, from blogger to book author!!

I remember when I was planning my wedding, I had planned to make these but ummm, that didn't happen. I thought they were so cute and totally customizable. I was ambitiously thinking I could come up with a Pucci inspired Cake Pop. Too much work, too little time.

So, while I didn't get to make them for my wedding, maybe I can make them for the upcoming baby showers I will be hosting.

This video clip shows how simple it is to make them and now I'm totally stoked and will try my hand at making them this weekend. *off to find lollipop sticks and candy coating disc-y things*

Who Says You Can't Wear White After Labor Day?

I love these looks and they are totally on my radar for rockin'.

RHONY

I have never watched an episode of Real Housewives of New York but chile, if it's as funny as this cartoon, I may have to tune in.

Watchers of RHONY, what say you? Is it accurate... a little?

Isn't She Purty?

I made a virtual home purchase today. And if I had the money, I would make it an actual purchase tomorrow.

I don't think I've ever seen a house that looks just as great from the rear as it does from the front.

I could just imagine having a swanky, strolling dinner party the spills onto the French Door lead patio, complete with highboy tables displaying dessert amuse-bouche, champagne cocktails and lounge-y seating areas dotting the lawn. Oh how fab that would be!

*comes back to reality*  Booooooooo!
