Wrapping Finally!!

Got word from our contractor. He says that target date for completing the house is April 18th. While thrilled, I'm taking that with a grain of salt because this project was supposed to be done in 4 months, NOT 6!! I know alot of it was beyond his control, especially working with a 100 year old house. He is really a great contractor, it's just maddening to wait sooooooo long.

Anywhoo, he contacted me for a paint color for our master bedroom. I initially choose BM Asphalt but found it's only available in Canada.

So I chose BM Iron Mountain.

I really love this color. I want to evoke a relaxing and romantic mood for our end of the day refuge, the bedroom. We have good light in our bedroom, which assuaged my fear that it would make the room cavernous. Instead it will be cozy and chic, especially with light gray trim and this bed:

The Hubby loves this bed because I love it.. so I've ordered it. YEAAA!

Just screams romance...

Love these Rococo style beds.

Fab Finds

I'm having a love affair with all things Tortoise Shell and Horn.

Currently coveting..

I had been searching high and low for some new Summer sunglasses to give my beloved Tom Ford Margaux's a break. I knew I wanted oversized and tortoise shell. I fell hard for these vintage Ted Lapidus sunglasses and had to add them to my sun shielding arsenal. Now, bring on the sunshine!

Chanel tortoise eyeglasses
I don't need glasses but would rock these in a heartbeat!

The beauty of these watches speaks for themselves and I MUST have them!!

Next up, tortoise and horn for the home.

LOVE!! Where do I find thee?

Horn nesting tables. LOVE!

Love this horn mirror...so luxe.

Living Vicariously

Wishing I was modeling in Paris... *le sigh*

For more delightful Parisian visuals, check out this trailer for new movie, "Midnight In Paris".

I could watch this trailer endlessly... Paris is so beautiful and romantic.. I wanna go sooooooo bad.

Keeping Your Eyes On The Prize

It's been one of those days.. actually it's been one of those weeks.. You know the ones.. where you just want to pull the covers over your head and shut out all that is frustrating.

Feeling like instead of "Bi-Winning", you're bi-losing? Losing over here and losing over there...

Well, if you're having one of those days or weeks or months or quarters too, I share this video of a determined pooch and his ball.

The moral of the story don't EVER stop until you got the ball in your mouth.

His successful tactics:
1. Be laser focused, don't let anything distract you. Deaf to the cackles of his nay-sayers.
2. Don't let your fear paralyze you. Keep circling and be inventive! "Hmmm, I'll use my paws too..."
3. Don't stop until the objective is met. Ball in mouth.

A Single Man

I'm so tarty for the party. I just saw "A Single Man', written and directed by the fabulous Tom Ford. The movie in a word was STUNNING! Not only was the story beautifully written and captured, the set design was mesmerizing. I think I may have to watch it another kabillion times.

While watching the movie, I had to pause it to just marvel at the sheer beauty of the interiors. Case in point:

A fabulous cornucopia of textures and ethnic elements. The super tall Moroccan lamps, the Ikat drapes, the African bone inlay mirror, the Flokati covered chair. This dressing space is inspiring.

More fabulousness!!  I want to start entertaining in full makeup, hair in a fab updo and rocking a ankle length dress. Not practical but I still wanna do it. I spy more Moroccan influences, the chest and the lighting in the hall and more bone inlay mirrors. I LOVE!!

I love the formality yet ease of the dining set up on the veranda. We have a side porch off the living room in our new house.. guess what I'll be copying?

More Ikat, this time in an fab upholstered headboard, complete with nailheads. Adore!

Ummm, yeah I'm gonna need some orange trees in my house too!! I squealed with delight when I saw this. I startled my husband out of his sleep. I don't have a conservancy for orange trees but I can do this:

Convertible Cutie

It is time for a new car. I'm seriously considering this:

BMW 335is in Alphine White with Saddle interior. Sooooo pretty!

BMW 335is in Black Sapphire Metallic with Saddle interior. Very Grrrrr!

I have wanted a converible since FOREVER!!

I'm still trying to get my mind wrapped around trading in my car:

I really love her but it's time to move on.

I really like the White Alpine, it says classic, dainty and ladylike.
But the Black Sapphire Metallic says, "I'm badass!!".

I think I need to test drive both and see which one feels better.

Which color do you like?

Foyer Fabulous!!

LOVE this foyer!

That chandelier is so amazing! Who makes this work of awesomeness??

The expresso floors and white walls, just warms my heart.

That bench seating doing double duty as a library and vignette.. so cleverly done.

The artwork wraps this lovely foyer in a chic bow.

The New Traditional

While on Youtube, I came across some short videos featuring one my favorite interior decorators, Darryl Carter. He has a new book out, "The New Traditional", that I plan to pick up tomorrow but these vids are a great precursor and definitely have me chomping at the bit.

This particular video is for Benjamin Moore, where he discusses his use of Moonlight White, throughout his home. It's a treat because it features snippets of his home, which are GORGEOUS.

I think I made a wonderful choice of changing our new interior paint from Silver Fox to Moonlight White. It will allow my furniture selections to pop as they do so wonderfully in the video.

The book and Mr. Carter's perspective is so fresh and inviting. It will surely be a guide for me as I continue to decorate our home.

In The Trenches

The weather is finally beginning to change guard and I couldn't be any happier. With the new palatable weather, one needs a light-ish jacket that is equally functional and fabulous. I give thee.. my latest obessions:

Studded Sleeve Bonded Twill Trench Coat

STUDDED FREAKIN' SLEEVES!!!!!!  *DEAD*

Gabardine Biker Trench Coat With Contrast Leather Sleeves

O. M. G.

Please excuse me while I go weep.

Get In My Closet!

I've been having a serious jones for clutch bags as of late. The bigger and more unique, the better.

First up, from American Apparel:

Although, it's not actually labeled a "clutch", this Leather Pouch will do the trick. I love the simplicity of it. A perfect addition to almost any outfit.

I opted for this one:

Some might say it's way too big but it's the very reason I love it. It's obnoxious and will be perfection stuffed under my arm. teeehee

Also on the hunt for an equally as big leopard clutch.

Alexander Wang Cher Large Siamese Clutch - sold out??  BOOO!

Next, on my radar is this clutch by Marc Jacobs. So cute!

I like both colors but I know I'll get more use out of the black option.. Decisions, decisions.

Unisex Office

I think this is an office that the both the Mr. (Treasure) and Mrs. (Me) could love. Although at first glance it may appear more masculine, it really speaks to my very feminine sensibilities.

I think the black walls are chic and the checkered floor... a stunna!

You know I LOVE a Croc embossed leather, displayed on the top of the arm chair while a sumptuous velvet adorns the seat.

I could be perched prettily on that chair for hours, trolling the interwebs, hosting a client meeting, blogging, buying shoes ... the list is never ending.

The zebra throw, is well, a neccesity. What room is ever complete without a little zebra print?

I also love the traditional look of the desk and I think it works well with the chair and I won't tire easily of either because they were too trendy or of the moment.

I'm also sure my hubby wouldn't be too keen on sitting on a lucite chair. I'll save that for my dressing room.

Countdown To Spring

I'm so ready for warmer weather and sunnier, longer days. Spring is in the air. Do you smell it?
