Such a pretty "after". Great job, Glamourai!!
This is a pretty fab "after" as well. I think I would have gone with different hardware though.

Light and Airy
That's how I'm feeling today.. light, airy, carefree, non fussy, pared down, tranquil... It's not often that I feel this way and I like it, so I'm cherishing it.
If I were a room, I would look like this.... today.

DIY Inspiration
Per my contractor, we're almost at the finish line with the house. The new windows should be in this week, then the refinishing of the floors and finally, it will be pack up and go time. I can't wait!
In preparation of hitting the ground running, I already have some my new decor purchases and compiled mood boards for the living and dining rooms. They are crude and elementary, otherwise, I would love to share them but I'll spare your eyes.
I will be a busy bee during the first weeks of living in our new home. One of the first projects I will be tackling are the old bathrooms that haven't been updated. I will have to paint and/or reglaze two of the clawfoot tubs.
I love the look of this sink skirt and I knew it would be a challenge as I don't sew but thanks to the interwebs, I have found a pretty awesome no-sew alternative. Yay me! Check it out here.
Another project I'm sure that I will have to tackle are windows. While, I'm sure many of the windows will don pretty panels, like this:
I would like to have a little something-something going on with a couple of the rooms. Like a cool Box Pleat Valance:
Again, no sewing could be an issue but thanks to this no-sew DIY tutorial, I'm confident I can do it.
Another window treatment I would like to occupy my home is this:
If you have or know of a great DIY, let me know. I would love to post it in my next DIY Inspiration post.

This is an idea.. I really like the look of this...so pretty. Do I have to use a special paint for this? I'm not sure. A trip to Home Depot is in order.
Also, I will have to make our old sinks look pretty, so I'm thinking of a sink skirt..maybe made from taffeta.
The sinks currently look similar to this:
But I want something like this:
So much better and I would have a little more storage space.

I don't know what kind a treatment that's called but I LOVE it!

Come Away With Me...
To Banyan Tree Sumai in Koh Sumai, Thailand
It's beauty just takes my breath away.
I'm sauntering to my G5 right now so I can go lounge on that beach. Wanna come with?

Mellow Yellow
Lately, I've been drawn to all things yellow. It's such a cheerful yet soothing color. I think I'll inject some yellow into my wardrobe and decor.

So Darling
This bedroom would be a little girl's dream. It's just so precious and whimsical. A CARRIAGE BED?!? LOVE IT!
This carriage bed can be purchased at Rooms To Go.
Another Porter Chair Post
I know, I know.. but I won't stop posting about my beloved chairs until I have one or two in my posssession. I just LURVE them!!
So, I have finally found my chairs and the price is quite ridiculous as in I can get two for the price of one in a usual circumstance. BUT the shipping of said chairs will be around $900.00!!!!!!!!!!! WTF!?!?!
Did you know that you can ship items via Greyhound? Yup, the bus transportation company. I've looked into how much it would cost to ship my babies and it only cost $67.00 per chair. How crazy is that?! But the owner won't wrap and drop them off. *sigh*
I'm so annoyed. But I'm determined and I will get those chairs and not for freaking $900.00 in freaking shipping.
*Also I wouldn't decline the help of a fellow blogger that happens to live in Los Angeles..that could pick them up from showroom, wrap them lovingly and snugly in bubblewrap and cardboard and drop them off at the nearest Greyhound station. That would be AWESOME and I could provide a payment as a token of my appreciation and cover the materials for covering my babies.*

How Cool Is This?
If you are a small business owner or a freelancer, you need the Square Up in your life.
It's a small portable device that connects to your iPhone or Android phone and allows you to accept credit/debit card transactions! Brilliant!!
I just ordered mine, the reader is totally free and I can't wait to get it to try it out.

Fab Lighting
I came across this hanging lamp at Z Gallerie and thought may be just what the doctor ordered for my dining room:
The price is good but I noticed it was for plastic "crystals". Hmmm, maybe this would be better someplace else. I think I want actual crystal for that space.
It is really pretty though. Maybe I need to see it in person before making any hasty decisions.

Dining Room Decor
I have a general idea of the decor for the living room, which for starters consists of this and this.. Still trying to find a bench, daybed, settee type of thing that I like. I'm leaning towards the Morgan daybed from Macy's.
Still looking for art and lamps though. Speaking of lamps, besides lusting for the Paul Evans Brutal lamps:
I have totally lost my mind over this:
Featured on the cover of the newly minted, High Gloss online mag, (which is FAB, by the way) the Murano Teardrop lamp has my name ALLLLLLLL over it. It's so glam, oversized and sassy, just like I like it. I will not rest until I have this lamp.
Ok, on to the dining room. I already have my chairs, my fabulous Regency chairs. I look at them lovingly everyday. I haven't started with the refinishing of the chairs because honestly, I couldn't decide on what fabric to cover them with. However, now I'm leaning towards this:
It's the Braemore Flowering Branch fabric. I think it would look good however you know my aversion to pattern, so that fabric may just go on the backs of the chairs and a solid everywhere else.
Next up, lighting. I'm still deciding but I know I want it to have a glam element. Here are two options. First, my favorite. I just love it because it looks so light and airy, a must for a dark room.
Another way to go would be a multi chandelier look with this:
For a look like this:
The dining room will be a little glam and a little Asian, I'm calling it GLAMSIAN chic! Teeeeheee, I crack myself up. Seriously, I really love Asian touches in decor and it will make appearances throughout the house, I'm sure.
So, here is my latest acquisitions for the dining room:
That's all I have for now, still looking for a rug, lamps, art and decorative items for layering.
It's coming along.. all we need now is for the contractors to finish my house. The last update was that we are now about to paint, replace all the windows and finally stain the floors.
I really like this one, but in the lighter cream version (couldn't find a picture). And it's on sale for $599.99. |

Vintage Pagoda Console. Doesn't it just scream for some Ginger Jars and Orchid plants? |
Faux Bamboo Mirrors - Sorry for the terrible picture. These mirrors are 48"H x 14"W. LOVE! |
