This weekend I was chatting with my sister and MOH, about my bridal shower/bach party. She asked me to give her some ideas because she wanted it to be really fab and special. I thought about it for a few moments and then stated that I didn't want one. Crazy right? I told her if she really wanted to do something for me, then buy me my wedding shoes. She was ecstatic! I have to admit that I was too because:
1. I wouldn't have to buy my beloved Loubous.
2. I didn't want to put any unnecessary burden or stress on her trying to figure out what I would like to do, eat, etc.
I feel good about my decision. Less hoopla all the way around..just the way I like it.
Next up was my decision to not have the wedding ceremony at 620 Loft and Garden. While it's really a breathtaking place... we've decided that we want our ceremony in a church. I felt a sense of calm once we made that choice. The church that we're considering and hope can accommodate us is, Grace Church, on Broadway. I love everything about it. Also, a historical tidbit - Calvert Vaux, co-designer of Central Park, landscaped the garden.
The thought of walking down this aisle, to wed the man of my dreams, makes my heart smile and dance a jig! I can't wait to marry my Treasure.

Another factor in the decision, while not terribly very important, was the logistics of changing the ceremony to the cocktail and lounge area. I didn't want my guest to see all of that. To me, it seems uncomfortable.

wow! that is BEAUTIFUL!!!
Hi Ms.122! Thanks for stopping by. Yup, I think it's beautiful too. =)
Both venues are pretty great! I hope you don't mind me asking how much 620 Loft and Garden would have cost? I think it would be THE location for my wedding but I don't even want to ask them as it looks out of my budget. Thanks
Hi Martina!
Thanks for stopping by. 620 Loft and Garden is spectacular and would be an ideal location for many couples. The price Mon-Thurs was 15k and the price for Fri-Sun was 20k. If the weekend date fell on a holiday, the price then became 75K.
Thanks for the info. The prices you stated for 620 Loft and Garden are on-site fees, right? If you don't mind me asking, how much was your catering per person? thank you :) Beautiful wedding.
Hi Anon!
Those were the prices when I inquired in 2008. I'm sure they have gone up.
We paid $120 per person for catering..but just to be clear we had our wedding and reception at The Liberty House. http://www.libertyhouserestaurant.com/
Hope that helps.
