Wedding Wishes from the Obamas

Who wouldn't want to invite the President and his First Lady to their wedding? I would be tickled pink just watching those two fist bump and gaze lovingly at each other.. at my wedding! But alas, tis not to be but I can still get well wishes from them. Nice!

If you send the Obamas a wedding invitation, they will send you a note of congratulations and well wishes. Awwwwww! I would love to have that in my wedding memorables.

If you'd like one too, you can send your invite to:

The Honorable Barack Obama and Mrs. Obama,
The White House Greetings Office, Room 39
1600 Pennsylvania Avenue
Washington, DC
20500

or fax it (so impersonal) to 202-395-1232.

Rufflely Fabness!

Oh chile!! I haven't seen a shoe this delicious in a long time. They are from famed Topshop, every fashionista's hot spot for the haute and trendy without the hefty price tag.

The designer is Londoner Emma Cook. I like her. If she keeps making head turning shoes like these, she will become my new bff.

These shoes leave me speechless. I especially love the khaki ones with the zipper.. so delicate with the ruffles but bad ass with the zippers.

When I get them in the mail, I will take them to bed with me and prop my feet on pillows so every time I wake during the night I can gaze at them until I drift back into a giddy slumber.

Found It!

My last post gushed about these fierce "Boudoir meets Wedding Day" (my take) from Vogue UK. Once I decided I wanted to do something similar, the hunt was on for cute undergarments. I must say those high waist panties can get really expensive. Like these:

Faire Frou Frou
They are gorgeous!! Can a panty be gorgeous?? However the price.. not such much at $540.00!!!

So enter good 'ole Victoria's Secret. I must say I've loved Vickie's since junior high school. Just going to the boutique was a treat.. I felt like a woman. So why would I abandon her now? She didn't disappoint. See...

I just love the covered button detail and that the set is blue! Perfection!!

While I'm at it, I want to get photos like these... My ambition is quite lofty with the craziness of a wedding day but proper planning... ah, who am I kidding?!?! But a girl can dream, can't she?? Here are the my photo inspirations anyway.

Boudoir Meets Wedding Day

I'm not certain I will have a boudoir shoot before the wedding. I would rather have a few "boudoir meets wedding day" photos as I'm getting ready. I will have to ensure that I allot an extra 20-30 minutes just for these. Wanna see my inspiration?

Photos UK Vogue

Fabulous right? I will have all I need for the shoot... just gotta find some great colorful undergarments. Not anything I may necessarily wear under my gown..just for some contrast with my ivory gown. Anyone with suggestions for fabulous lingerie, feel free to suggest.

Thank goodness my gown is a silk organza and tulle - so no wrinkling for the last photo inspiration. Yea!

Creative Presentations

I'm a control freak.. I try not to be but it's a sickness. Case in point, I was thinking of the cocktail hour and I know we will have passed vittles for our friends and family. I got to thinking, having passed tasties on silver platters is nice but not original nor personal. So I just wrote my catering manager to ask if I can provide the serving vessles. If she says yes, I'm totally running out to get a few of these:

Oversized martini glasses!! It's perfect because our signature drink.. served at the cocktail hour will be martinis.

I'm running to the Target to snatch some up just in case she says yes.

Oh My Pucci-esque Goodness!

The "Pucci" wedding is shaping up nicely. With the new venue, my event designer/florist extraordinaire has implemented some truly FABULOUS new ideas which include these oversized "lampshades" trimmed with the Pucci fabric and dripping with orchids... a crystal curtain to divide the dining area from the "Dessert Library" lounge area. I'm so excited, I'm about to burst!

The only thing was was a little problematic was the acquiring the Pucci fabric. Initially, I had found the real stuff at a fabric store.. for a mind numbing $60.00 per yard. Uhhh no.

I continued to search fabric stores for something at least similar in coloring and pattern, to no avail.

Finally, I came across a company that makes digital prints on fabric. Sounds like just the ticket. I emailed my unusual request, "a Pucci-esque pattern, inspired by the Pucci Marine Spring 2008 line but not an exact copy - incorporating the colors of midnight blue, aqua, butter, sand, black and white"

I got a sample yard from the company and I was beyond thrilled with the result! I didn't even request the type of material, which they printed on a silk-like, semi-lustrous charmeuse. It's simply beautiful!

Wanna see?? Here it is!

Picture Inside

Picture Outside

The photos does it NO justice though. It's absolutely divine in person. Everytime I look at it, I can't stop smiling. My Treasure said I should make a skirt or dress out of it. After the wedding.. I just might.

Check Out My Booty!!

No, not the one that I need to get in gear to go running today. My wedding booty..

Remember the cute beverage tubs that I wanted to display the personalized Jones Soda??

The ones I had found online were nice but I really didn't want to pay $30.00 per tub. So I put it on the back burner. Fast forward to yesterday on my daily jaunt to Rite Aid.. I just like to go there and walk around.. I don't know why - prolly because they always have cereal on sale. =)

Anywhoo, lo and behold what I found!

I totally LOVE these!! I bought two and will order the personalized one (photo above) from Lillian Vernon. I got them for a STEAL at $11.99. How perfect is that? It pays to wander around Rite Aid every so often.

Truly Timeless

Sadly I had to part ways with my beloved Still Motion cinematograpy. For a moment I thought I would chuck the idea of having video all together. But I felt if I didn't have a video of the moment to capture the day, I would regret it.

So the search was on for a videographer that would capture my must have awesome video heart and I found him!

Introducing my latest vendor... Timeless Films New York. FABULOUS WORK!!

I wish I could embed a video but Ray has that locked down.. no video pilfering from him. But you can view his awesome work on his blog. The 3rd video is what sold me. Check it out!

MOB

I plan to spend some time with my Mom and go MOB dress shopping. Her requests, "I don't want to show my legs." OK Mom, no problemo.

Instead of the traditional satin number with the little jacket (ugh, who keeps designing these things???) I want my Mom to wear something fresh and comfy yet chic and elegant. I was thinking of something flowy, in maybe a chiffon and a flash of sass with a corset-y top. I found this photo of Whitney Houston and now it's my mission to find something fabulously similiar.

theybf.com

I love this dress for my Mom. I think she'd look stunning. The fit on Whitney is a little strange but I love the elements of the gown..flowy, shoulder baring, detail at the waist and corset-y top. Perfection!

Dazzling Blues Too!

OH MY GOODNESS... these could be just the ticket! I've been hunting for some really cute shoes and while I found TONS... these are just magical.

The Glittered Platform Pump. I can just imagine how fabulous these will look peeking out from under my gown in the must have "Shoe Shot".

Even more than that I would love to rock them with skinny jeans for a night out or just perusing Target.

Dazzling Blues

I have been looking for earrings for the wedding. I knew that they had to be linear, to slim out my face and sparkly...well because I love the sparkle!

Ebay

I had considered going with just clear bling-y earrings but the injection of sapphire really makes them special.
