Yup, I Had To Do My Own Hair

I didn't plan to have to do my own hair or makeup.. while the makeup was fabulously done by Lazarus -- 24 hours before that, I had no one to do my hair. That was thanks to my infamous procrastination. Luckily, I'm handy with a comb, pins and hairspray.

Not the greatest pic but shows the hairstyle.. a lil.

My sister was a little worried when I got up at 3:30am to start figuring out what I was going to do with my 'do.

The first style was "bridal-y", with curls all over and pinned up. BAH! I hated it.. it just wasn't ME and I didn't feel fabulous. At. ALL. So I took it all back down and stared in the mirror.. what did I want??

Finally, I said to myself, I want to look like the brides that I style for bridal magazine shoots -- fashionable, modern with a hint of softness. This is what the final product looked like.

Here I am with my beloved niece and junior bridesmaid, Deasha. Isn't she a cutie pie? I wasn't too sure they'd (the jrs and flowergirl) would go for the big flower in the hair but they did and made sure it was picture perfect all day.

I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED how my hair came out. It was a perfect compliment to my gown and my demi-veil was the must have accoutrement. I was pleased with my creation. I even had quite a few women ask me who did my hair and who designed my gown. I was quite tickled.

Please excuse the curious face.. I think I was about to smile again.. or bust or something. I was in the lobby of the London (LURVE this hotel!!!) and was about to see my groom for the first time in his groom-ly duds. I think I was sweating bullets too.

Our first posed (amatuer) photo together of the day. I felt like a new woman already.. without the utterance of a heartfelt vow. Isn't my Treasure just the bees knees!!

In this photo, the nerves started to dissipate and was quickly replaced by "let's get this show on the road!" I've never felt more full of love and happiness.

Sidebar - My bouquet was a fab surprise on the wedding day. I know my florist extraordinaire had sketched what it would look like based on my wedding design and gown and the overall "feel" of what I was going for.. but never did I expect the grandness of my bouquet. It was absolutely stunning and I was lost for words when I saw it. Tammy can work wonders with a flower. She has a definative eye for style, color and design and I'm soooooooo happy that she was a HUGE part of my day. Oh and not only did she design my bouquet, but the reception flowers and ALL decor, but she even made all the desserts that were featured in the "Dessert Library". Wait until you see that.. coming up shortly.

All photos by my sister. Thanks Sis!

Your dress is to die for, and I'll be honest, I rarely like strapless dresses, even wedding ones! You looked amazing and I could have sworn you're lying about your hair, it's PERFECT! Congratulations!!! XO.
