Fabulous Greek Key Sofa II

As much as I loved the yellow Greek Key sofa in my previous post, I just couldn't get my head wrapped around committing to so much pattern AND color. I punked out.

I did find something that I love and while still patterned, the neutral tones makes it much more palatable. Baby steps, for me.. Baby steps.

Thanks for sharing, Nancy!

This really works for me. It's a perfect sofa actually. Tailored, low arms, bench cushion seat (a must, multiple seat cushions drive me batty) and while patterned with my new fav, Greek Key, it's tonality is subtle and actually relaxing. Yellow for the throw pillows, I can live with.

Fabulous Greek Key Sofa

I've been looking for a small sofa for my family room and while I'm partial to solid colored upholstery, I must admit I was so excited to find this:

I'm such a fan of this sofa. It has a great shape, love the Asian base and that fun, yellow greek key design is really WOWING me.

Does anyone know the name of this fabric? Or something similiar?

I'm not quite sure I can commit to a patterned sofa but if I ever did, THIS would be the one.

Vera Does David's Bridal

It's that time of year where brides that got engaged over the holidays start clamouring over all things bridal. Even though I got married a year ago, I still look at wedding gowns and stay current with all things wedding.

This latest bridal finding has me tickled pink. Vera Wang has a new line of gowns, the "White" collection at David's Bridal and they are STUNNING!!

These gowns are so very gorgeous and and keeps in line with the look of a Vera Wang at a price point of around $1000.00.

I'm in love with the selection in the middle...it's divine.

They Are Wearing This To The Prom?

This year is my daughter's senior prom and I'm so excited! I plan to take her to look at dresses tomorrow just to see what styles she likes and what looks good on her and basically have a mother/daugther day out.

I picked up a prom gown catalog just to see what girls are wearing these days. Undoubtly, very sexy dresses because I wore a Faviana prom dress for my wedding reception.
There were lots of pretty dresses. This year seems to be all about animal print, tropical and botanical prints.

Very cute stuff.

There's even a gown for the Oscar's inspired prom.

But there was one dress that stopped me in my tracks..

This "prom" dress is so not prom-y. I can totally see this on a bride and if not an actual bride, at the very least on a model for a haute bridal photoshoot. It looks couture and quite fabulous. I Love it!

Best part, it's only around $500.00. Say what?!?

Happy Happy, Joy Joy!!

Craigslist never ceases to amaze. I was going through the listings looking for a two twin headboards for my guestroom and while I didn't find anything for said guestroom, I did find a fabulous MIRRORED BUFFET, a fab brass dining table and 6 suede chairs for $125!!! For everything!!!

I was totally dumbfounded because the ad was from December 24!! This beautiful dining furniture at that INSANE price had been overlooked for a month!! So bizarre. Anywhooo YEA ME!!

I know just the place for that buffet.. the living room.

Not sure about the table and chairs though..it's quite contemporary. I'm wondering if my Regency chairs would look good with the table? And what to do with those chairs? I'm sure I'll find a home for them.. if not in mine, then someone else's.

Decorator White

photo

The hubby and I were talking about paint again as we are finally in the last stretch of this renovation. (OMG, I had no idea it would take the entire winter! So much for enjoying our 50 kabillion fireplaces. lol But I digress.)

So back to paint, the Mister thinks we should go with a creamy-with a drop of grey tinged white walls instead of grey walls. And I have to admit that I'm torn.

The creamy white walls would look so fresh and make the space look expansive but being an apartment dweller, we've lived with dull white walls for a long time. I think we need some color. He thinks the white would be a better choice because of the expresso floors.

I dunno.. but this photo of a entry is making a great case for white walls. So pristine yet warm and welcoming.

Decisions, decisions.

Fab Finds - Designer Edition

I really shouldn't peruse the interwebs in the wee hours of the morning. I can get my bank account in a lot of trouble.

This vintage Gucci pitcher is a fab conversation piece. I'm totally in love with all things Horn these days, so I was just smitten at that detail. I could see this lovely piece on my super cute bar cart.

Another vintage Gucci item, this time to adorn me. This emamel and goldtone necklace/belt is a nice statement piece. I really love this too. I want it, badly.

Lastly, this vintage Christian Dior Limoge tray is the bees knees. Perfect for my bedside table to hold my wedding ring. Or could be perched on a foyer table to hold keys. So cute!

Go With The Flow

As the winter continues it's blistery, cold assault in my neck of the woods, I have to continue to find ways to brave the frigid temps, warm and fashionably.

Doesn't she look ready to weather tomorrow's forecast of a high of 26 and a low of 9 degrees. Ugh, a low of 9 degrees!!??

While I've haven't been able to warm up to the fur vest look... that furry cut off at the shoulder looks strange and bulky to me.. or is it just ON me?  This short sleeved shape is alot more palettable and doesn't give a trendy feel. I LOVE it!

Best Dressed

I don't watch award shows but I love me some Red Carpet. This year's Golden Globes seemed to have a green gown moment, I was not loving.

My best dressed pick is Jennifer Lopez.

Loved this look!!  I love Jennifer in white and she always brings the glamour. I could definitely see this on a fashionista bride. Pretty, pretty, pretty!

Honorable Mention, Eva Longoria.

Classic Old Hollywood ala Zac Posen.

Target, How Do I Love Thee?

Usually when kicking around on the weekends with the family or shopping for the house or just hanging out, I usually do my runway in skinny jeans. They are easy and works with almost anything.

However, I have a pair of camouflage pants that I bought eons ago and came across them last night. Don't you just love "finding" new clothes, it's just like finding money. Though I prefer the latter.

I had no idea what to wear with them that would be cute and equally comfy. Gwen to the rescue. You know how much I LOVE her!

Super cute look! She looks so effortlessly fly, her usual.

So, while I had everything.. Leather jacket? Check! Black tee shirt? Check! Camo pants? Check! Boots??? Nope. I don't own any flat boots.

I was so thrilled to find some cute boots to complete my look without spending alot. Enter Tar-Jay!

Xhilaration Karima Leather Boot
I thought these boots were perfect and the price was working for me, only $49.99.  I love me some Target.

I might wear this little ensemble next week for the Hubby's birthday.

Get In My Closet!

Net-A-Porter is going to be the death of me. Constant swooning cannot be good for one's health.

Lift a neutral color palette with Missoni's multicolored metallic Lurex-knit mini dress. Slip it on under a fashion-forward cape and add leg-lengthening heels to complete a chic fall look. Shown here with Givenchy shoes, Oscar de la Renta necklace, Jimmy Choo bag and a Stella McCartney cape.

Transform your silhouette in one sophisticated step with Chloé's taupe and light-brown wool jumpsuit with a knitted top and tailored pants. Accent the leg-lengthening cut with platform pumps and add an across-the-body bag for a chic finish. The pants of this jumpsuit have an unfinished hem so that you can tailor them to the perfect length.

Pull on Miu Miu's chocolate-brown leather knee-high boots for a kick of cool this fall. Keep your palette neutral and add a color-pop print to take your look through this season and beyond. Shown here with Falke tights, Chloé bag and a Miu Miu coat and dress.

Emulate runway chic with Michael Kors' charcoal double-faced wool cape coat. Throw it on over a loose-knit cardigan and thigh-high boots for new-season cool. Shown here with Wolford tights, Christian Louboutin boots, Yves Saint Laurent ring, Vionnet belt, Miu Miu bag and a Stella McCartney cardigan.

I've included the descriptions from Net-A-Porter because they sound so luxe... and I want it ALL!

You Slow, You Blow

My bestie ALWAYS tells me if you find something you love, buy it...immediately. This advice has always been sage and now because of my dilly dallying, I missed out on this:

Elle Decor - Gold Leaf Tray

This super cute tray is from Kohl's and it was on sale for $10.00! I put it in my cart last night..thinking I would just check out this morning and it's GONE!! So annoyed with myself because I know better.

There's two Kohl's near me so I will swing by with crossed fingers.

So Over Winter!

This cold, dreary weather is giving me a case of the blahs. My thoughts are constantly thinking of the next time my skin will be sunkissed.. when I can lounge on the beach with Rum Punch in hand and pedicured toes in the sand.

Art On Ebay

As I go about virtually decorating, I can't help but think about what to do with the walls. As an apartment dweller, I've never really bothered hanging photos or anything because I didn't want to have to repair the holes.

But no more bare walls for us. I get to hang purty pictures and maybe some art. Yea us!

Here are a few Abstract canvases that I have on my Watch List:
Wanda Austin

Jolinas  - I REALLY love this one. The energy of it is restorative and magnetic.

DRob
All of these are original works and around 60". What can I say? I like big and bold!

Ebay artist.. Good stuff, huh?
