Gone shopping

Although I love planning my wedding, I do bore easily and am currently distracted by a couple of my fav overseas shopping sites, first up is www.YesStyle.com

I was just perusing and found these very ka-ute pieces!!




I just love the colorful sequined geometic shapes and shift dress styling, sans the thigh-highs and bag.



This is a great twist on the high-waisted skirt, so fab!



Always looking for a great "meeting clients" bag, the sturdy leather and brass hardware makes it chic and functional.

Another cute shift, perfect for pulling a look together at a moment's notice.



A little blousy but I love it! Coupled with black skinny jeans or black leggings and a sky high wedge or preferably these, I'm ready for a girls' night out.

Wedding Dress Workout

I'm the first to admit, I'm impatient. I need things done in a nano-second. Too bad my body isn't the same way. When it comes to working out or better yet, seeing the results of working out, I would love to be able to blink and voila, a perfectly long, lean and toned body stares back at me in the mirror. Nope, that's not the case. But the next best thing could possibly be a workout targeted to the type of wedding gown I'll be wearing.

The Getaway

When I think of the "getaway", ie, the Honeymoon, usually one would think of a week or so of beautiful scenary, luscious lounging, tantalizing cuisine and fruity drinks. Basically, relaxing and unwinding from all the stress of planning a wedding..this getaway, is the reward as well as a new lifelong beau, to share it with.

With that said, Treasure and I decided that he would handle the honeymoon. Totally. I don't want to know anything about it...I told him that I just wanna get on a plane and go somewhere nice. Now most would, at least, want to know where the honeymoon destination is..but not I. I trust his judgement completely. BUT, there's always a huge but, if I did have a say it would be to have a volunteer honeymoon. What?!??! you say... Volunteering on my honeymoon??!?!? No way! I just want to relax and eat and have relations with my new husband. =) Well, I do too but I need something more. Something rewarding, something different...something life changing. My suggestion would be to volunteer for project in our global community.

Oooh la la

I just happened across this darling little sweater at J.Crew. What makes it so fab is that it's completely covered with sequins!!! Just right for the little fabulous one in your life. I'm gonna get a couple for my flowergirls, just in case they get a chill at the evening reception.

Aren't these cakes FABULOUS!! That's one talented diva!

I've been contemplating the importance or lack thereof, of having a wedding cake. I would really like to have peach pie!! But I think with all the things I've opted not to do, such as the garter toss and the bouquet toss, the older folks at the wedding may be less than happy if we don't have at least the cake cutting tradition.

I wonder how many people will actually eat cake? Every wedding I've been to, I hadn't, not because I didn't want any but usually because the cake cutting was so late and I had probably left already. And with Treasure not being a fan of cake, I've been left in a quandry.

I had pondered the infamous cupcake tree but although cute, it doesn't seem sophisticated enough.



Next was doing something unique like these cake balls. Sounds a little funny but looks DELISH! I like that they're a cross between cake and a truffle...so CUTE!!




Then I realized that I really want a cake! A big, beautiful, artistic cake!! So Treasure and I have decided to get a Fake Cake. Yup, one layer of real cake, it will be the one we cut and smile lovingly as we feed it to each other..the rest of the layers, FAKE albeit beautifully covered with fondant and decorations.

My Mom always says "everything that's old, is new again". Never really paid much attention as I rummaged through her vintage oversize clutches,wideleg jeans and pants, safari jackets..and, well you get the picture. It's great stuff and still totally fashionably relevant.

Brides are following suit, either using their Mom's gown or visiting the co-signment or thrift shop, hoping to find "The One" or at least something to construct into the one. I can't tell you how many brides I know that have opted for a "vintage" or "old hollywood" gown or inspiration for their wedding (that would be moi). Bridal designers have taken heed, they have delved into the past and have created gowns that are stunning retro with a modern edge. I really love Jenny Packham. Her lovely creations scream "Hollywood Siren"




These are two looks that I absolutely love. Quite iconic indeed. Is it strange that they are on opposite ends of the spectrum and I would rock them BOTH!!??

Sidebar- How insane is it that Grace Kelly looks so chic and modern? It's like playing the game "Which one of these things don't belong here" or something like that.

Something blue

More than likely my "Something Blue" sans a blue diamond upgrade (a girl can dream), will be these absolutely beautiful shoes by Brian Atwood. In my shoe closet, he gets the top shelf right next to CL, my pet name for Christain Louboutin.

The white is lovely as well however, I believe if I purchased a white shoe, I would have it dyed anyway. So one less step to a fab shoe that I can wear well after the wedding.
