The Lamps From Hades

I found some great, HUGE lamps for the living room and while great, they color needed to change. So I grabbed my trusty spray paint and figured I could spruce them up in a flash and have them flanking the sofa in no time.

WRONG!

It's been two days of trying to fix the paint issue that I've encountered and still the lamps are looking crappy.

So, let's take a look at the lamps before.

Here's the after:

I'm so annoyed. But I will give it another go tomorrow. Sanding, re-painting and toning down the white with a little ivory spray paint. Hopefully, the third time is a charm.

Actually, although you are not liking it, if it seems the same tomorrow, it does add texture and interest, even belightedly... so don't beat yourself up.. but I am sure you will get it right tomorrow.. all the best, J

Hate it when something that should be relatively simple goes off the rails. Fingers crossed the painting works out, they are such great lamps :)

I like it.. the texture made it interesting, but I do hope it works out and you get the lamps to where you want them to be.

P.S. I love this... said...

Hi Ladies! Thanks for stopping by!

@ Janzi - Thanks for the kind words. I guess in my rush to get the lamps done, I may have oversprayed and caused the crackle effect. I will try it again this weekend.

@ Natalie - I know, right!?!? So frustrating. But I will get it together and have pretty lamps.. at some point. =)

@ GP - LOL I liked the smoothness when the paint first went on but then it started to crackle.. to my horror. I was MAD!! lololol
